What it is
Backup is a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is the plan and the test that prove you can actually restore it, on a clock you can live with. A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a control.
ExampleWhat it looks like
Ransomware hits Friday night. Monday morning you are working from a restore that was tested last quarter, not calling around to see if the USB drive in the drawer still spins.
How we handle it
WolfTech designs backups that are separate from the live network, then we test restores. "We have a backup" is not the same sentence as "we restored it last month."
